This is the second in a series of three one-month courses in which we will explore how we can delve into the meditation. We will be using the two key practices that we teach at Triratna: Sattipatanna (mindfulness of breathing), and Metta Bhavana (the development of unconditional love).

This course follows on from the previous on the breath: Breath is Life – Breathwork & Meditation Course.

During this second course we will be continuing to explore meditation from a more embodied perspective, using the breath and other creative practices to enable us to do so. In particular we will be looking at the metta bhavana practice, (the development of loving-kindness) and how learning to feel more fully alive in the body can enhance a natural sense of well being and unconditional love (metta) for ourselves and others.

It would be helpful for participants to have had some experience in the practice prior to being on the course, although it is not compulsory. If you are unsure please feel free to get in touch with us.

What We Need Is Here

Geese appear high over us,
pass, and the sky closes. Abandon,
as in love or sleep, holds
them to their way, clear
in the ancient faith: what we need
is here. And we pray, not
for new earth or heaven, but to be
quiet in heart, and in eye,
clear. What we need is here.
